PETALING JAYA: Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong conducted a special visit to his constituency ahead of the Chinese New Year.

In a Facebook post, Dr Wee said he visited the Rumah Sejahtera Warga Emas Yong Peng and gave ang pows to its residents on Sunday (Feb 7).

"Besides that, our volunteer squad together with the Yong Peng Lions Club supplied 360 packages and basic amenities to families in need as well as medical aid to 65 kidney patients, and patients of other chronic illnesses.

"Since the movement control order began on Jan 13, my volunteer squad also supplied vegetarian meals to 153 less fortunate individuals in Yong Peng daily," he said.

He added that the Ayer Hitam MP service centre has distributed 17,000 packages of items such as rice, flour, cooking oil, biscuits, eggs, vegetables and fruits to the B40 group since March 18 last year.

"As the MP here, I will continue to ensure the welfare of the rakyat is given attention and taken care of, especially during these tough times due to the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.
