Selangor police investigating allegations of cop not wearing face mask in public

PETALING JAYA: Selangor police are investigating allegations that a police officer was walking in public without a face mask.

Photos of a uniformed police officer buying food in Taman Nirvana, Ampang, while not wearing a face mask are making the rounds on social media.

“The police thank those who have shared this information and are viewing the matter seriously.

“A thorough investigation will be conducted according to the law. We will not compromise or protect any wrongdoing of any officer or policeman, especially from the Selangor contingent, ” it said in a post on its official Facebook page while sharing photos of the incident.

It added that disciplinary action will be taken.

Internet users urged the police to take disciplinary action, and that the officer in the photo be fined for not complying with Covid-19 prevention SOPs.
