Those with medical issues should consult doctor before vaccination


PETALING JAYA: Those with serious underlying medical conditions such as cancer or with allergies should consult their healthcare practitioners before taking the Covid-19 vaccine, say health experts.Universiti Malaya’s (UM) Prof Dr Moy Foong Ming said the best way to determine if it was safe would be to discuss an individual’s levels of risks based on their condition, treatment and level of transmission in the community.

“The decision should always be based on a risk-benefit assessment, ” said Dr Moy, who is with UM’s Department of Social and Preventive Medicine.
