78 trainees at Pulapol quarantined after infection

KUALA LUMPUR: Dozens of cadets at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) along Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra here have been quarantined after testing positive for Covid-19.Bukit Aman Management Department director Comm Datuk Ramli Din said only minimum movement is now allowed at Pulapol.

“Yes, 78 trainees have tested positive and have been quarantined in their dorms.

“Sanitation works are also being conducted, ” he said when contacted.

The trainees have been separated and quarantined at the dormitory, he added.

On Jan 27, the Health Ministry announced that a workplace cluster has been detected at Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra.

While it did not name the exact location, the ministry said the cluster involved staff and students of a training institute there.

The cluster was first identified on Jan 26 when the index case was detected via a screening after the 58-year-old patient started showing Covid-19 symptoms on Jan 19.
