THE Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) has urged the Federal Government to allow the observance of Chinese New Year traditions as long as the Covid-19 standard operating procedure is followed, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Its president Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan hoped the tradition of welcoming the God of Prosperity as well as the celebration of the Jade Emperor’s birthday, both of which fall during the Chinese New Year period, would be allowed in spite of restrictions from the movement control order.
