Move to ensure political stability and smooth running of the govt

PETALING JAYA: The Perikatan Nasional presidential council will continue to be the highest political platform for all leaders of the ruling coalition to discuss issues, says the Prime Minister.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this was to ensure the political stability and smooth running of the government administration.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president, who chaired a virtual meeting of the presidential council yesterday, said a briefing on the Proclamation of Emergency by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan, who oversees legal matters, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali and Health deputy director-general Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail was well received.

“Various issues were discussed and all at the meeting were satisfied with the explanation and lengthy discussion on the Emergency Ordinance and the management of the Emergency, as well as management of the pandemic and vaccine immunisation plan which will begin in February 2021, ” he said in a Facebook post.

Among those who joined the presidential council meeting were Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and MIC president Tan Sri S. Vigneswaran.

The heads of other parties included those from PAS, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).
