KLANG: A house break-in gang, who was active in Klang since earlier this month, has been busted with the arrest of four men.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli said the suspects, aged between 19 and 21, were detained in Taman Sentosa on Friday (Jan 22).
"We made the arrests following a police report on a break-in in Taman Saujana Jati on Jan 18.
"The victim, who is an auditor, discovered that various belongings were missing, including a television, a laptop, passport and a hand-held gaming device," he said in a statement on Monday (Jan 25).
ACP Shamsul Amar said the modus operandi for the gang was to cut the lock on the door before using a screwdriver to pry the door open.
"Three of the gang members would enter and ransack the house, while the other would be on the lookout.
"One of the suspects admitted to selling jewellery from one of their break-ins to other individuals for RM9,000," he added.
Three of the suspects had past police records for various offences, he said.
"We believe the gang was responsible for four break-in cases.
