PUTRAJAYA: A total of 3,346 new Covid-19 were recorded on Sunday (Jan 24), bringing the total infections to 183,801.
Of the new cases, only seven were import cases while the rest were local transmissions.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 950 followed by Sabah with 431 cases, Kuala Lumpur (390) and Johor (378).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that 805 cases in Selangor were detected from the various clusters and through the screening of close contacts.
He added that 242 cases from the total new cases in the country were from clusters related to prisons, lock-ups and detention centres.
There were also 11 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 678 cases or a fatality rate of 0.37%.
There was some relief with 4,427 patients discharged, which is the highest yet, bringing total recoveries to 141,446.

The total number of active cases in the country now stands at 41,677.
There are 265 people were being treated in the intensive care unit, with 102 requiring ventilator support.
