Politician arrested for making drugs


KUALA LUMPUR: A 35-year-old politician who allegedly produced his own mixture of drugs for sale at RM300 a bottle has been arrested by the police.

The suspect was held in Pudu at 1.45pm on Wednesday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said they flagged down the politician who was riding a motorcycle and upon checking, found a package containing 400ml of liquid believed to be ketamine.

The man, who had contested for a post in a party’s youth wing, was apprehended.

“Probes led to his residence in Jalan Duta Suria 8, Ampang. There, we discovered more drugs, including nine ganja plants worth RM4,500 and liquid believed to be a mixture of ketamine and THC worth RM531,000, ” he said.
