PETALING JAYA: The roadblock at Jalan Persiaran Mahogani in Kota Damansara here will be lifted conditionally for SPM students returning to school on Jan 20.
"The police will lift the roadblock there on a scheduled, conditional and limited basis.
"This lifting of the roadblock will be from Monday to Friday, from 6.30am to 7.30am for the morning session and from 2.30pm till 3.30pm for the afternoon session," said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 19).
He said that only certain groups of people were allowed to use the road while the roadblock was lifted.
For parents, only one guardian is allowed to travel with a student in uniform.
Teachers must bring along their teachers’ pass and only on-duty school staff are allowed.
School buses and vans are also allowed to use the road while ferrying uniformed students on condition they have an authorisation letter from schools.
"Action will be taken against those who were found to not fit the listed criteria. All vehicles will be inspected while going through the road," he said, adding that Petaling Jaya cops wish students the best of luck for the upcoming examinations.
