PETALING JAYA: The Perikatan Nasional Youth will serve as facilitators to help youth benefit from the RM15bil Permai assistance package.
"Perikatan Youth will be the facilitators for young Malaysians so that they will enjoy the benefits from the initiatives to be implemented," Perikatan Youth information chief Muhammad Hilman Idham (pic) said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 19).
He said the movement will put in efforts to strengthen the Perikatan government's resolve to ensure economic well-being of the nation and people.
"The direct fiscal injection through various initiatives to safeguard the welfare of the rakyat while ensuring continuity of business will bring positive impact to the nation's economy," he added.
He cited several initiatives such as the RM1bil Wage Subsidy 3.0, RM1bil Microcredit Scheme, RM650mil Prihatin special grants and digital campaigns such as "Shop Malaysia Online" as being able to help generate economic and job opportunities for the youth.
He also commended the government for continued support to frontliners and the needy through the Permai assistance package.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the RM15bil package on Monday (Jan 18).
The packages, he said, cover 22 initiatives, anchored on three main objectives, namely Combating the Covid-19 outbreak, safeguarding the welfare of the people, and supporting business continuity.
