PETALING JAYA: Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan has been ordered to undergo self-quarantine after being a close contact to an individual who is Covid-19 positive.
Saravanan’s political secretary Datuk Khamarulazlan Mohammad Hanafiah was confirmed positive on Saturday (Jan 16).
A circular sighted by The Star noted that Saravanan was identified as a close contact, as he was involved in a special National Security Council (NSC) meeting on Wednesday (Jan 13), which was also attended by Khamarulazlan.
“As such, Datuk Seri is urged to undergo self-quarantine beginning Jan 16 till Jan 22 to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“Your cooperation is also needed to ensure all guidelines set are abided during the entire quarantine period, ” read the circular.
Earlier, mStar reported that cosmetic entrepreneur Datin Rita Sosilawati has been in despair after finding out that her husband, Khamarulazlan, had tested positive for Covid-19.
