The committee said Sibu recorded the most cases with 43, followed by Miri (six), Kuching (three), Julau, Meradong and Beluru with two cases each while Dalat, Bintulu, Kapit and Belaga with one each.
"There is one death reported. The patient was a 42-year-old local man at Miri Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital unconscious on Jan 13 and passed away the next day. A swab test conducted on Jan 14 came back positive with Covid-19," said the committee.
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the state stands at 19.
The committee said out of the 43 cases in Sibu, 34 of them were from the Pasai cluster.
"This brings the number of cases connected to the cluster to 599 since being detected on Jan 8 from a 32-year-old woman who came back from Johor to attend her father's funeral," it said.
In Miri, three of the cases were from symptomatic screening, with one each from Cluster Jelita, Cluster Bah Sayap and imported from Kuching.
The committee said the three cases in Kuching included a case each being detected after close contact screening, symptomatic testing, and imported from Johor.
"For the past 24 hours, a total of 38 cases had been discharged from hospitals statewide. This includes Sibu Hospital with 27, Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching (nine), while Bintulu and Miri have one discharge each," it said.
