PMO denies claims of DPM, cancer

PETALING JAYA: The Prime Minister’s Office has denied speculation that a deputy prime minister will be appointed.

The statement was issued yesterday after several news media reported that either Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein or Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob would be appointed to the post.

The statement also quashed rumours that Muhyiddin was undergoing cancer treatment.

‘The Prime Minister has been declared free of cancer by the specialists who have been treating him, ” said the brief statement.
