MCA's Crisis Relief Squad mobilises to help flood victims

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA's Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM) has mobilised its flood relief efforts in aid of victims of the recent disaster.

MCA Youth chief Datuk Nicole Wong said the group aims to raise RM50,000 through the GoCare crowdfunding donation drive in order to procure essential items for victims.

"Victims will be needing large amounts of material assistance so we call upon the rakyat to donate so we can send the material to those in need as soon as possible," she said.

Wong said CRSM was also actively recruiting volunteers to help with relief efforts in affected states such as Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Johor.

She said CRSM has so far mobilised 500 volunteers to help with tasks such as delivering supplies to victims, assisting in relocating flood victims and the delivery of personal protection equipment.

"Volunteers will also be on hand to help with post-flood clean-up efforts," Wong said.

She said CRSM has also been recognised as Rakan Nadma by the National Disaster Management Authority and will share first-hand information about the floods and weather on social media at https://www.facebook.com/CrisisInfo to help the public keep abreast of the situation.

Further information on how donors and volunteers can contribute aid can be found on the LetsGoCare Facebook Page and on https://gocare.org.my/product/2021-flood-relief/
