EMCO at Westlife Hostel extended until Jan 22

KUALA LUMPUR: The enhanced movement control order (MCO) imposed at the Westlife workers hostel in Tampoi Jaya industrial park in Johor Baru have been extended until Jan 22.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the enhanced MCO at the hostel was initially slated to end on Friday (Jan 8), but the Health Ministry confirmed that the rate of Covid-19 infection there is still high.

"The Health Ministry have conducted 1,303 screenings and detected 555 positive cases.

"Based on the advice of the Health Ministry, the government has agreed to extend the enhanced MCO until Jan 22," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 6).
