PETALING JAYA: The deferment of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan repayments has been extended for another three months.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad said the deferment would be extended until March 31 for qualified borrowers.
Borrowers who qualify for the deferment can start applying for it from Jan 5.
“This decision was taken as the government realised that PTPTN borrowers are still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and cannot repay their loans yet.
“The deferment period will begin from the month the application is approved, ” Noraini said in a statement yesterday.
