Covid-19: New high of 3,321 recoveries reported with 2,295 new cases detected

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 3,321 Covid-19 recoveries and 2,295 new infections on Satuday (Jan 2), says the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country also reported nine new Covid-19 fatalities, bringing the country’s death toll to 483.

There were a record high of 3,321 patients who recovered and were discharged, which means the total number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the country is 94,492.

Active cases in the country now stand at 22,398.

In total, Malaysia has recorded 117,373 Covid-19 cases.

Currently, 125 people are being treated at intensive care units, with 51 of them requiring ventilator support.
