KUALA PERLIS: An attempt to smuggle 300kg of compressed ganja, worth an estimated RM1.5mil, was foiled by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) during an operation in the waters off Kuala Perlis.
Kedah and Perlis MMEA deputy operations director Kapt Zulinda Ramly said an unregistered fibreglass boat was intercepted 0.4 nautical miles (about 600m) west of the Sungai Padang beach at about 3am on Friday.
