PETALING JAYA: Health experts have called for stricter enforcement of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act (Act 342) and the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act (Act 446), as the issue of cramped workers’ quarters is threatening to cause the spread of Covid-19 and other diseases.
Universiti Malaya epidemiologist Prof Datuk Dr Awang Bulgiba Awang Mahmud said companies should comply with Act 342 and the amended Act 446, which came into force this month.
