Covid-19: One new cluster reported on Dec 27

PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry reported one new cluster on Sunday (Dec 27) called the Jalan Sedco cluster.

"This workplace cluster involves the Tawau and Kalabakan districts in Sabah.

"The index case, case 92,107, tested positive on Dec 20.

"Up till Dec 27,26 people have been tested, with 14 testing positive," Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in his daily Covid-19 statement on Sunday.

Of the 1,196 Covid-19 cases recorded on Dec 27,52 were linked to clusters in prisons and immigration depots.

Five cases were imported infections.

Currently, there are still 20,233 active infections.

"The country also recorded 997 recoveries which puts the total amount of recovered cases at 84,411 (80.3%)," he said.
