PETALING JAYA: Only 400,000 Indian Malaysians have filled in their MyCensus forms and the Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) is urging the community to do so immediately.
“From the existing data of about two million Indian Malaysians in the country, the present figures are of grave concern, ” its president Datuk RS Mohan Shan said in a statement Saturday (Dec 26).
He added that to address the low turnaround of the Indian community, the Statistics Department has collaborated with Tamil schools, temples and NGOs to help the community fill up the online census.
“Just like how we exercise our right to vote every five years, we have to take part in this census, ” said Mohan.
He also called MHS members and councils to give assistance to those who are not technology-savvy to fill in the compulsory e-census.
