JOHOR BARU: Two men have been arrested and 13kg of heroin seized in two separate raids around the Seri Alam area here.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said that the two suspects, aged 31 and 38, were detained at about 9.45pm on Sunday (Dec 20).
“Both suspects tested positive for drugs while one of them has a criminal record.
“They were believed to have been active since May and the drugs are believed to be for the Johor market, ” he said in a statement Tuesday (Dec 22).
The police also seized three cars, one motorcycle, cash in Malaysian and Singaporean denominations as well as gold jewellery during the raids.
“The total value of the items seized was RM338,953, including RM153,178 from the drugs, ” he said, adding that the two suspects have been remanded for seven days from Monday (Dec 21).
The case is being investigated under Section 39(b) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
