Govt looks to raise revenue

The government will carefully study ways to improve revenue streams without further burdening the people.

In his winding-up speech for the Sales Tax (Amendment) Bill yesterday, Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Abd Rahim Bakri said the government would review proposals on how best to raise revenue, which includes relooking the (now scrapped) Goods and Services Tax (GST) as well as the ongoing Sales and Services Tax (SST).
