GOF officer, auxilliary cop killed after being swept away by strong currents during patrol duty in Ulu Baram


SIBU: A member of the 12th General Operations Force (GOF) who lost his life while on patrol duty in Ulu Baram has been buried in full police ceremony at Nirvana Memorial Park here on Wednesday (Dec 9).

Sgt Simon Laja, 47, and auxiliary policeman Sgt Kemian Dugat, 50, were killed after being swept away by strong water currents while conducting a patrol routine at the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP) area in Sungai Melana, Long Kerangan in Ulu Baram at about 6pm on Dec 3.
