PETALING JAYA: Following a meeting with the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), the Transport Minister says he is looking into ways to help army veterans.
Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said he received a visit from LTAT chairman Jen (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin at his office in Putrajaya yesterday, and described the latter as “gentlemanly”.
“We discussed at length regarding various matters and current issues, including effective ways that the Transport Ministry can help former soldiers who had contributed greatly to the country.
“I assured the LTAT chairman that the Transport Ministry is always prepared to help LTAT in whatever circumstances, ” the minister said in a Facebook post yesterday.
Dr Wee said the meeting was a productive one, and that Zahidi was someone who was “rational and humble”.
“There were many things I have learnt from the LTAT chairman at this meeting. The Transport Ministry will continue to foster a close relationship with the LTAT to protect the interests of former soldiers, ” he said.
