Seven cops in Johor test positive for Covid-19, 213 family members under quarantine

JOHOR BARU: Seven police officers in Johor have tested positive for Covid-19, while 213 others and their family members have been placed under quarantine.

Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay (pic) said those affected were from the Batu Pahat, Johor Baru South and Iskandar Puteri police headquarters.

He said four from the Batu Pahat police headquarters were found with Covid-19 and 40 other officers were placed under quarantine.

“A total of 61 police personnel from the Johor Baru South police headquarters were placed under quarantine after two officials tested positive for Covid-19.

“At Iskandar Puteri, a senior police officer was detected with Covid-19, along with four of his family members,” he said.

He added that 37 senior officers, 72 officials and three family members from the same police headquarters have also been placed under quarantine.
