Cops begin probe into viral video of man in police uniform kicking a person

SEREMBAN: Police here have started a probe into a six-second video clip showing a man in a police uniform kicking an individual believed to be a foreign worker, says Seremban OCPD ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim.

He said the initial investigation showed that the incident took place in Taman Jasmin in Senawang.

"We believe the incident happened when groups of foreign workers were being taken to a

Covid-19 quarantine centre.

“A police report has been lodged and we are now looking for the victim as well as the man wearing the police uniform," he said in a statement Monday (Nov 30).

In the clip, which has since gone viral, the victim is seen seated along the road with several others when he is kicked three times by the man in the police uniform.

It cannot be immediately established as to who filmed the assault.

ACP Mohd Said said that police will probe the case thoroughly and action will be taken

against the attacker.

"We will act accordingly and there will be no compromise," he said, adding that the

case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which states that it is an offence to voluntarily cause hurt to someone.
