KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds were issued to 290 individuals while 18 others were remanded over various violations under the movement control order (MCO) on Thursday (Nov 26), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Senior Minister (Security) said among the top offences committed on Thursday were not wearing face masks, not practising physical distancing and taking part in activities at entertainment outlets.
"The compliance operation task force performed 54,528 checks on Thursday, including at 3,713 supermarkets, 4,943 restaurants and 1,308 factories.
"The task force will increase their checks and stern action will be taken against those not adhering to standard operating procedure (SOP)," he told reporters during his daily briefing on Friday (Nov 27).
On Ops Benteng, 40 illegal immigrants were detained on Thursday while 275 roadblocks were conducted nationwide, he added.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said 75,993 individuals returned to Malaysia since July 24.
"A total of 10,813 people are still undergoing mandatory quarantine at 76 hotels and 18 other premises.
"A total of 405 individuals were sent to hospitals for treatment while 64,775 people have been discharged and allowed to go home," he said.
On public sanitisation operation, Ismail Sabri said 11,957 operations have been conducted involving 137 zones since March 30.
