Cops: Four nabbed over spate of break-ins in Klang Valley

SERDANG: Four men believed to be involved in a gang responsible for 30 shop break-ins have been detained.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Razali Abu Samah said police detained a 41-year-old man at about 9pm on Nov 22 in Taman Bukit Serdang.

"Further investigation led us to detain three other men, aged between 30 and 40, at the same housing area," he told a press conference on Thursday (Nov 26).

Several items were seized, including tools used to break into shops, four mobile phones, three gloves and a ski-mask, he added.

"We also seized 53 bottles of alcoholic beverages, two swords and two motorcycles used in the thefts.

"We believe the gang targeted restaurants and cafes in an area," he said.

ACP Razali said one of the suspects have 28 criminals records.

"All of them tested positive for methamphetamine.

"We believe they were responsible for 30 cases in Serdang, Brickfields, Petaling Jaya and Kajang.

"The latest incident occurred at a shop in Bandar Puteri Puchong, where the gang fled with RM2,094 in cash," he said.
