Cops bust house break-in gang in Serdang

SERDANG: Three individuals - two men and a woman - have been arrested over a series of house break-in cases in Serdang and other districts.

The latest incident occurred at Rumah Flora Residensi in Seri Kembangan at about 12pm on Nov 19, whereby one of the suspects had broken into and ransacked the house.

In a bid to escape, the suspect even assaulted the nephew of the house owner.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Razali Abu Samah said a team from Serdang CID, led by Insp Khairul Shahril, chased after the suspect, who fled in a car driven by another suspect.

"The suspect lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a road divider.

"We managed to arrest the one who broke into the house and another man who was the 'getaway' driver," he told a press conference on Thursday (Nov 26).

Further investigations led police to a third accomplice - a 41-year-old woman - in Taman Sungai Besi, he added.

"All three suspects tested positive for methamphetamine. All of them have past criminal records," he said.

ACP Razali said investigations revealed that the house break-in gang has been responsible for 10 cases in Serdang, Brickfields, Petaling Jaya and Kajang.

"We are investigating the matter further," he added.

ACP Razali urged anyone with information on any criminal activities to contact the police as soon as possible.
