Search operations ongoing for a boy who fell into Sungai Chepor Dalam in Perak on Nov 24, 2020.

IPOH: The search is continuing for a 10-year-old boy who is believed to have drowned after falling into Sungai Chepor Dalam despite heavy rain since Tuesday (Nov 24) morning.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a distress call was received at about 10.47am Tuesday and a rescue team was deployed.

He said the boy fell into the river while playing with friends and was swept away by strong currents.

“We are carrying out a surface search using boats as well as searching by the riverbank,” he added.

Perak Mentri Besar’s wife Datin Seri Dr Nomee Ashilin Mohd Radzi had also paid a visit to the boy’s family at the site.
