A PAIR of newlyweds held their wedding reception at a farmers’ market in Alor Setar, Harian Metro reported.
Nur Syuraya Ramli, 21, and her groom, Muhd Safuan Muhd Azli, 25, ensured they adhered to strict standard operating procedure throughout the event on Sunday at Pasar Tani Taman Wira Mergong.
The bride said they chose the location to honour her parents who had been operating their business there for over 20 years.
“Most of the guests are my parents’ friends who are also traders at the market.
“After the solemnisation ceremony last Friday, we decided to hold our reception here and, to make it more interesting, we wore traditional Malay wedding costumes, ” Syuraya said.
The bride’s father, Ramli Ahmad, 51, said he was glad that the event proceeded smoothly and he hoped that the relationship between the traders would also be strengthened.
“We are all like a family here, so it is not awkward to have them at my daughter’s wedding, ” he said.

Syamsul said since a lot of people were asking, he decided to tell them what was going on, Harian Metro reported.
“We are in the process of improving our relationship. All we need is time for ourselves.
“No one in this world wants a divorce. The same goes for me and Sarah. And we need to consider the well-being of our children.
“I love my children and, of course, my wife, ” he said.
Rumours about their unstable marriage have been rife since Sarah supposedly went to the religious affairs office on Sept 20.
