Body found outside KK police HQ

KOTA KINABALU: The body of a man was found hanging from a piece of cloth tied to a water pipe along the Sembulan River just outside the city police headquarters.

The unidentified male in his 20s was spotted beneath the main water pipes when a policeman scanned a perimeter fence in the morning.

“Our initial investigations indicated that the incident had occurred shortly before it was discovered.”

A team of policemen, firemen and health personnel handled the body in accordance with precautionary measures under the Covid-19 standard operating procedure.

The body had been sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.
