GEORGE TOWN: Penang recorded eight new Covid-19 cases and has a total of 11 identified clusters as at Thursday (Nov 19).

State local government committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said Penang clusters include the Seri Pasir cluster in Mukim 13 (sub-district 13) in the northeast district of Penang island.

“From the 11 clusters, 15,070 individuals have been tested and eight were positive.

“In Penang, there have been 1,711 cumulative Covid-19 positive cases.

“Of those cases, there are now 255 cases that are still active, ” he told a press conference on Friday (Nov 20).

Jagdeep said social distancing and standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance was the only form of "vaccine" available right now.

“Following the SOP is the best vaccine. Nationwide, we are recording four-digit cases.

“This fight cannot be done alone, we need to work together," he said.
