MACC's immigration blitz could improve country's Corruption Perception Index, says former TI-Malaysia chief


PUTRAJAYA: Effective enforcement such as the recent blitz against Immigration officers operating a “stamping facility” syndicate are among actions that can improve Malaysia’s standing in the Corruption Perception Index score, says Datuk Seri Akhbar Satar.

The former Transparency International-Malaysia president said constant enforcement, including by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), against corrupt officials reflects the government’s seriousness in fighting power abuse and that this is being done to weed out the menace.
