104 issued compounds, eight foreign women detained at entertainment outlet

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 104 locals were issued with compounds, while eight foreign women were detained following a raid on an entertainment outlet here.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid said the foreign women, aged between 23 and 25, were detained along with a local man, the manager for the outlet, on Jalan Loke Yew on Thursday (Nov 12) night.

"The eight women detained were from China, Russia and Ukraine.

"104 locals, including 98 patrons, were issued with compounds," he said when contacted on Friday (Nov 13).

Nine locals, including two women, tested positive for drugs after undergoing urine tests, he added.

"All of those detained were brought to Cheras police headquarters.

It is learnt that some of the outlet workers were paid RM1,500 a month to keep an eye out for enforcement officers.

They would inform the caretaker to warn the customers to flee if they spotted enforcement officers.

It is believed they were also paid to watch the customers and report any suspicious activity.
