Senior citizen found dead in Penang flat


GEORGE TOWN: The body of a woman in her 60s was found in a flat in Machang Bubok here.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department fire operations and safety officer Nafis Ariff Abdullah said they received a distress call at around 5.35pm on Thursday (Nov 12).

“When the firefighters arrived at the scene, there was a foul smell.

“They broke down the door with a rescue tool and found a body in the flat.

“The victim is believed to have died for several days," he said in a statement.

The body was handed over to the police for further action.

The operation ended at 6.11pm, he added.
