Enhanced MCO on Sandakan's Taman Mesra to be extended

PETALING JAYA: The enhanced movement control order (MCO) imposed on Taman Mesra in Sandakan, Sabah will be extended for another 14 days from Wednesday Nov 11 to 24, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the Health Ministry had conducted screenings on 1,124 people and detected 134 positive cases there.

Of those who tested positive, 43 had recovered with 91 cases still active.

“On the advice and the risk assessment of the ministry, it was agreed to extend the enhanced MCO there, ” said Ismail in a press conference on Tuesday (Nov 10).

The locality was initially placed under an enhanced MCO from Oct 28 to Nov 10.

However, Ismail said that the enhanced MCO in Taman Mawar in Sandakan would end on Tuesday.

He that the Health Ministry had conducted 731 screenings, with 87 positive cases detected.

A total of 64 people have recovered while 23 people are still receiving treatment.

The locality was placed under the enhanced MCO from Oct 28 to Nov 10.
