Neighbour arrested for slashing dog

JASIN: A man attacked a pet dog belonging to a woman after he was supposedly angered by the canine’s loud barking.

Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Mispani Hamdan said the incident happened at 9.30pm on Thursday at Taman Maju here.

The man, who is in his late 30s and believed to be a neighbour, trespassed into the house of the 37-year-old woman before slashing the dog with a knife.

The dog suffered serious injuries to the stomach but survived.

DSP Mispani said the man also caused a commotion outside the neighbour’s house after attacking the dog.

The man has been detained and remanded after a police report was lodged. The case is being probed under the Penal Code for trespass and for committing mischief against animals.
