Bill on temporary contractual obligation relief passed in Sarawak state assembly


KUCHING: The Sarawak Legislative Assembly has passed a Bill to provide temporary relief from contractual obligations under various state Ordinances not covered under a similar federal Act.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said the Temporary Measures to Reduce the Impact of Coronavirus Disease 2019 Act 2020 (Covid-19 Act), which was passed by the Dewan Rakyat on Aug 25 and gazetted on Oct 23, only applied where federal laws were applicable in the state.
