PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry continues to receive the biggest allocation of RM50.4bil, or 15.6% of the total budget allocated.

Melaka Action Group for Parents in Education chairman Mak Chee Kin (pic) said this is “heartening” to note.

He was responding to Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Sri Zafrul Abdul Aziz’s Budget 2021 announcement.

“There are many weaknesses and shortcomings in our education system which have been magnified due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The allocation can be used to purchase equipment and sanitisers to contain the spread of the virus in schools, ” he added.
