KOTA TINGGI: The Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (Maqis) foiled an Indonesian man’s attempt to smuggle more than 1,000 murai kampung (oriental magpie robins) into the country.
Johor Maqis director Nur Afifah A Rahman said the man's boat was spotted in Teluk Ramunia here, and when its cargo was inspected, they found 1,053 birds in 50 baskets around 11pm on Monday (Nov 2).
