MELAKA: A long-term Covid-19 action plan is expected to be tabled next week, says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the tabling of the plan is given utmost priority in a bid to assuage the impact of Covid-19 in various sectors.
Ismail Sabri said a key committee with nine sub-committees has been formed and it's chaired by various ministers.
"The nine sub-committees comprise, among others, representatives from economic, health, education, social wellbeing sectors.
"The sub-committee representatives will submit their respective proposals and suggestions for the consideration of the National Security Council that is chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin," he said.
He said this after leading 294 recipients of honorary awards during the third session of the investiture ceremony in-conjunction of the 71st birthday of Yang-di Pertua Negeri Melaka Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam di Balai Istiadat Seri Negeri on Saturday (Oct 31).
Ismail Sabri and Higher Education Minister Dr Noraini Ahmad were conferred Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), which carries the title "Datuk Seri".
Among the recipients on Saturday ceremony was Revenue Group Berhad managing director and CEO Ng Chee Siong who was awarded Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM) which carries the title "Datuk".
The fourth session on Sunday (Nov 1) will see 298 recipients being conferred various honorary titles.
Melaka Tourism Business Club president Chew Chert Fong is one of the recipients awarded DPSM during Sunday's ceremony.
