PJ police pick up intoxicated man causing ruckus, claiming to be cop

PETALING JAYA: A man claiming to be a Special Branch officer was arrested after causing a ruckus near Empire Damansara Soho 1 here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the incident occurred at around 2am on Wednesday (Oct 28).

"We received a complaint from a 59-year-old security guard there.

"He told us the suspect was causing a ruckus and claimed to be a Bukit Aman Special Branch officer," he said Wednesday.

He said when police arrived at the scene, they found the suspect and checked him.

"The 29-year-old suspect was intoxicated at the time and further checks revealed he had a record for a drug-related case.

"The suspect behaved aggressively and shoved, punched and kicked the policemen and pull one of the officers vests until it tore," he said, adding that the suspect also uttered lewd comments and claimed that he could transfer the personnel at once.

He said during the arrest, checks on the suspect's body revealed a packet containing compressed dried leaves believed to be 3.6gm of ganja in his shoe.

"A urine test also revealed the suspect was positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

"We have remanded him for four days to help with further investigations," he said.
