Furniture outlet in Sabah goes up in flames




KOTA KINABALU: A furniture outlet and a row of shops were destroyed in a fire along the Lintas Kepayan road around 6.30am, Friday (Oct 23).

The fire, which burnt down a warehouse, an office and a two-storey shop lot, did not cause any injuries or deaths.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said that two fire trucks, a fire tanker and a utility vehicle were dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 6.33am.

“The fire was brought under control a couple of hours after and the operation ceased at about 10.26am, ” the department said in a statement.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
