Terengganu rich in Islamic tourism sites

KUALA TERENGGANU: Tracing the historical remnants of Islamic scholars, including those around the Islamic Civilisation Park (TTI) and the Terengganu River, has potential to further strengthen the Islamic tourism industry, said Terengganu state executive councillor Ariffin Deraman.

Among the attractions are the house and surau left by ulama and fighter Abdul Rahman Limbong who opposed the British in the 1920s in Kampung Beladau Kolam here.“We need to discuss with the Terengganu state museum about the house and surau left by Haji Abdul Rahman Limbong,” he said during a visit to trace Muslim scholars around the Terengganu and Nerus rivers here yesterday.
