PAS celebrates 30 years of administering Kelantan

PETALING JAYA: PAS is celebrating 30 years of administering Kelantan with a series of programmes promoting its Islamic governance model in a way deemed suitable for a multi-racial setting.

The 30-year history of Mentri Besar Incorporated (MBI) would be showcased at the Kelantan Museum from Nov 1 to Dec 31,2020.

PAS has yet to lose its grip on Kelantan after coming to power on Oct 21,1990.

Deputy Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah, who is in charge of coordinating all the 11 programmes under the various state executive council portfolios, said many of the programmes would be showcased on digital platforms in view of the Covid-19 threat.

"Various programmes have been lined up from October to the end of the year, including the exhibition at the museum," he said.

Among the highlights include a special ceramah by the Prime Minister's Special Ambassador to the Middle-East Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, who is also the PAS president.

The ceramah would be aired live at 9pm on Wednesday (Oct 21).

Other programmes are the Three-Decade Celebration opening ceremony by Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob on Oct 25, a Syariah Law forum on Oct 31, and an Entrepreneurship Seminar on Oct 31.

Events planned for November include a Sustainable Development Seminar, a gathering of Kelantan youngsters, and the celebration of Clean Kelantan Day.

The opening of the Tualang 2 Water Treatment Plant, meanwhile, is scheduled for December.
