Cold-blooded murder, not house break-in, say cops probing man’s death

KAJANG: A 45-year-old woman and her younger brother have been detained over the alleged murder of her husband.

The woman had initially lodged a report over a house break-in at their home in Kampung Baru Sungai Chua here at about 12.30pm on Oct 1.

It is learnt that the "assailant" had hit her 59-year-old husband, who is blind, on the head with a hammer during the heist, which resulted in severe injuries.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the victim succumbed to his injury and died at the hospital on Oct 10.

"Our investigation revealed that the victim's wife and her younger brother had allegedly planned the victim's murder in order to inherit his assets.

"We have since detained both suspects," he said when contacted on Wednesday (Oct 21).

Both suspects are expected to be charged at the Kajang Magistrate's Court on Thursday (Oct 21), he added.
