Issues between Perikatan parties should be set aside, says Perak PAS

IPOH: Perikatan Nasional component parties should not be at each other’s throat, says Razman Zakaria (pic).

The Perak PAS commissioner said their common enemy should be DAP and whatever issues between Perikatan parties should be set aside.

“Perikatan‘s principle is to reject DAP. Our main concern is also to stabilise the state's economy and issues faced by the people, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, ” he told reporters when met at a hotel here Tuesday (Oct 20).

“We need to work together," he added.

Razman was asked to comment on the disagreement between Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and state Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad over the appointment of Pengkalan Hulu assemblyman Datuk Aznel Ibrahim as Ahmad Faizal’s political secretary.

Aznel, who is Gerik Umno deputy chairman, has been tasked by Faizal to oversee matters related to the Federal Government and his post as the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) vice-president.

Ahmad Faizal had said that the appointment was done without consulting anyone, while Saarani had accused the former of not acting in accordance with the “spirit of cooperation and consensus” as agreed upon when the Perikatan state government was formed.

Razman said since both parties are from the same pact, the matter should be put to rest.

“There should not be any problem, ” he said, adding that PAS also enjoyed a cordial relationship with Bersatu.
